Much like original artwork and color guide pages, printer
proofs were also vital in the production of the actual
comic book. Printers proofs are created for quality control
purposes, catching mistakes, or editor's approval before
printing thousands of copies of the actual comic books. Most
proofs are also one of a kind, but are not hand-colored the
way color guides are.
